Hi Yvonne,
the Technical Museum of Vienna (about 200.000 square feet of galleries) was
closed in September 1992 and all objects (about 30.000 inventory numbers)
were moved to a storage some miles away.
The museum buidling got renewed completely. Now, the exhibits will return
and the museum will be opened at least partially somewhere next year.
The closing and moving started, when I was the director of this house.
I myself moved away to the KunstHausWien. Now, I am a cultural consultant
and project manager.
If you have anay questions on moving complete museums, turn to me or to the
management of the Technical Museum of Vienna via their email:

Yours,
Peter, the Rebernik
