Hi Scott,

I don't know what part of the country you're in, but many art centers, art
councils and other art organizations have workshops on this sort of thing
for artists. I just received the summer program bulletin today from
Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado, and they have a workshop by Arlene
Raven called "Real Art Talk" for artists on how to write and talk about
their art work. You can visit the Anderson Ranch website at
www.andersonranch.org
ART CALENDAR (www.artcalendar.com) magazine also has articles and
publications on this topic. I've written articles myself for this
magazine and a monograph on residencies for artists.

There are several books available on this topic--it's usually covered in
general ones about marketing and survival skills for artists. Allworth
Press is a good source for books on marketing for artists. Their e mail
address is [log in to unmask] and website is www.allworth.com. Send for a
catalog of their publications if you are interested.
Best wishes,
Jane
