Obviously, the historic significance of the medals,
with the particular uniform, is of great importance to
your boss.

So, I suggest that you tell your boss that you will
agree to photo-document each uniform, specifically
regarding the exact location of each medal and button,
so there is no doubt the uniform can be precisely
restored to original condition, when needed.
