The San Diego Natural History Museum announces an upcoming evening lecture
in the "Nature Watch" series. "Rattlesnakes: Truth, Myth and Medical
Response" will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 25 at the SDNHM. Dr.
Findlay Russell will discuss the medical aspects of reptile venom and
envenomation, and SDNHM director of collections care Sally Shelton will
discuss rattlesnake biology and popular representations and
misrepresentations. Specimens from the SDNHM Klauber collection, the
largest museum collection of rattlesnakes in the world, will be on
exhibit, as will rare and antiquarian herpetology books from the Klauber
Rare Book Collection. For further information on registering for this
lecture, please call (619) 232-3821, ext. 203. Please don't respond
directly to this posting, as the education department is not on-line.

Sally Shelton
Director, Collections Care and Conservation
