I have been asked to do a presentation on the preservation of archival
collections from the point of view of someone working in a small museum
and was wondering if anyone has any interesting experiences, annecdotes,
references, etc. about this topic they might like to share.

Obviously procuring adequate resources to preserve archival collections
is a problem faced by many smaller institutions and by the people to
whom I will be delivering my presentation, so any suggestions of
inexpensive measures institutions can adopt as a first step towards
developing a higher standard of care for archival collections will be
most welcome.
