New York, NY, January 2003: Ralph Lamberti, Chair of the Board of Trustees,
has announced the appointment of Paul Goldberg as President and CEO of Snug
Harbor Cultural Center. His appointment comes at the end of an extensive
national search undertaken by Thomas and Associates, Inc., a New York-based
staffing and consulting firm that specializes in the arts and nonprofit
organizations.

Paul Goldberg, a well-known arts administrator and musician, will assume his
position on February 1, 2003. He "had everything we wanted…he was the one
who hit all the buttons-leadership, vision, energy, especially energy,"
remarks Lamberti.

Goldberg was trained as a musician at City College and also has a masters in
arts administration from Baruch College. His career in arts management
includes working with ICM (International Creative Management), and later
running his own arts management business, Go Management. Goldberg has also
served as executive director of the Young People's Chorus of New York and as
director of institutional advancement at Meet the Composer, a 29-year-old
service organization that funds the development and performance of new
music. Before his appointment to Snug Harbor, Goldberg was the director of
development at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, a 36-year-old
professional company.

Snug Harbor Cultural Center is a multi-faceted visual and performing arts
organization located on an 83-acre, 28-building historic site in Staten
Island, New York. As President/CEO, Mr. Goldberg will be responsible for
setting the overall artistic tone and direction of the organization, and for
increasing the Center's visibility and audiences. Reporting to the Board of
Directors, he will have primary responsibility for leadership, strategic
planning and fiscal management.
