General Session
8:00 - 8:45 a.m.
New York State Update

Representatives from the New York State Council on the Arts, the State
Education Department and other state agencies will be available to update
participants about program initiatives and requirements, and funding
opportunities.


The General Session will be followed by sessions focusing on the management
of human resources in museums and historical agencies in New York State.
Creatively managing personnel resources is a challenge facing all museum
administrators and supervisors.  Whether you are a small agency or one with
scores of employees, whether you have general administrative responsibility
or supervise a team, sessions are designed to help you apply the most
current thinking in related fields to your work.  Session presenters have
expertise in business, law, accounting and personnel management.

II.  Compensation and Benefits Packages

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Session B:  Know the Law & Doing It Well
I.  Recruiting, Hiring and Terminating
II.  Integrating Volunteers Into Your Workforce


MANY ISSUES LUNCHEON & BUSINESS MEETING
11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Continue the session discussions with your colleagues over a gourmet lunch
at issues-based tables.
