I have only one problem with this list moving to a newsgroup. This
reason may sound rather selfish.

I have not been overly vocal on this list, so this objection may seem out
of place. However, the editor that I would have to use to post to a
newsgroup is called "VI." It is a royal pain to use. There is no
wordwrap, I can't use backspace... Overall, this is a difficult way for
me to post messages.

On the other hand, I use "PINE" for my e-mail. It is much easier to
use. I have fewer problems editing, there is wordwrap, and I can
backspace.

If you tend to be more vocal on the list, look into how you will have to
submit your messages to the newsgroup. This may outweigh the benefits
you think you will be getting by the list switching to a newsgroup.
