Ellen,

Try to track down a copy of "Cheap Eats in London" (at least I think that
is the title, also, being London, cheap is relative)--I used it for all my
restaurant needs when I was there in 1999 and did not find a bad restaurant
in the batch. As for museums, etc., get thee down around Covent Garden
where there is a little museum of mechanical "toys."

Have fun,

Tim

Dear listers,

I am spending a week in London in January and am consulting you very
cosmopolitan folk for your suggestions on places to go.

I am especially interested in smaller, less-well-known, perhaps
out-of-the-way museums and sites that just tickle your fancy. We intend to
spend most of our time in London proper, but are open to the idea of one or
two day trips (Oxford having considerable allure). Art galleries
(commercial) or districts as well.

Also: anybody have any favorite restaurants?

Thanks so much!
