Curator. The John L. Wehle Gallery of Wildlife and Sporting Art at the
Genesee Country Village & Museum seeks a dynamic innovative curator to
work with one of North Americaís largest collections of sporting and
wildlife art, covering four centuries and including works by
internationally known artists and sculptors. This experienced museum
professional will use strong interpersonal, project management, and
team-working skills in designing and budgeting work plans, training
staff, and overseeing all aspects of collections management. S/he will
develop exhibitions drawn from the permanent collection, coordinate
exhibitions from external venues, develop and present public programming
for both school and family audiences, and assist in grant writing.

This position is open at a particularly exciting time in our
institutionís history. Beginning in 2002, the curator will be central to
the conceptualization and implementation of a new gallery, emphasizing
its intellectual, programmatic, and physical integration with the
institutionís recreated historic village and nature center. For more

Graduate degree in art history, museum studies, or other relevant field
and three yearsí curatorial experience required. Salary commensurate
with experience.
