I am posting this question to the list for JoAnn Kent, a colleague who
has no access to the internet:

"My father gave my stepmother a Native American dress and shawl from
this century. They are repairing the beadwork on their own and want,
eventually, to display it in their home --the dress has special meaing
for them and they want to be able to see it.

I have no experience with preserving/displaying leather and I could
use some advice.

I'd appreciate some suggestions --or references-- about how best to
preserve and display this piece.

Thank you!"

... and thank all of you!
