You know, the only time I ever see such umbrage taken
is when Christians believe their precepts are being
trounced upon.  And like many a holy war, such
commentary can start quite a brouhaha on the list.

Never mind the fact that many Christian precepts
trounce on the religious and lack of religious beliefs
of other people.  Were that not the case, the Pope
wouldn't be apologizing.

With that said, there is one subject known to disrupt
the hell out of many an email discussion group.
RELIGION.

Best to leave your religion at home when it comes to
email discussion groups, especially of a world-wide
nature, because you're going to cross the divide of
many a different belief system (Wiccan, Atheist,
Agnostic, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Confucian,
Taoist, Native American, etc.).

Just consider me a former, long-term Sunday School
teacher who believes in evolution, but also believes
in respecting the theological precepts of all people,
not just the Religious Right.

Being religious does not necessarily make one
right--especially in Emailville.
