Most of the museums and some of the galleries in the Washington area hold
evening and weekend events, either programs or weddings and corporate
rentals. Many of these need trained volunteers to staff various museum
rooms and other visitor service posts. Check out the Phillips Collection,
Sewall Belmont House, Dumbarton House, or here at Wilson House.

Subject: Adult education

I am a resident of Washington DC and I was wondering if anyone could
recommend anywhere to take adult art history courses in the area. I know
the Corcoran offers many, but is there anywhere else? i now work full time
and I therefore am not able to volunteer during regular business hours in a
museum, but would like to further my education and figure that I may as well
take a class if I can't volunteer. Or maybe someone else has a better
suggestion. Is there volunteer work outside of the regular working day?

Thanks so much.
