I would disagree with the "I don't think kids will try to climb up 
there." I had an exhibit director say that multiple times. At a science 
and history museum in north Florida at which I worked we were installing 
a new ocean mammal exhibit. Said exhibit had a three foot wall with a 
plastic dolphin mounted on a metal pole. You could hold the dolphin's 
tail, turn it left and right and while pushing a button get a distance 
reading much like dolphin echo location.

Well I said many times that it looked just like the 25 cent horse ride 
out side the grocery stores. Said exhibit director said, "I don't think 
kids will try climb up there."

One hour after the exhibit's official opening I got a knock on my office 
door. It was the exhibit director. His comment, "They climbed on it and 
rode it."
