You might want to contact Peddler's Village in Lahaska, Pennsylvania.
They sponsor a gingerbread building competition in the early winter
(around December I believe).   The theme is interpreted by the entrants
whose submissions are grouped by age and relative experience.    Prizes
are given, and the line of people waiting to see these wonderful
creations is unbelievable.   It has become an extremely popular annual
event.

I believe the competition this year will be on exhibition from November
21st through January 8, 2004.
