Flour Sack Exhibit Available

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum is re-releasing their
highly-successful traveling exhibit of embroidered flour sacks from
World War I. The exhibit consists of 15 framed sacks that were
originally filled with American and Canadian flour for the starving
people in war-torn Belgium. As a gesture of gratitude, many of the
empty flour sacks were embroidered or painted by Belgian women and
sent to Herbert Hoover, the organizer of the food shipments. The
Hoover Library- Museum has approximately 500 of these beautiful
pieces in the museum collection and has chosen the traveling flour
sacks from them.

The exhibit is available for a modest fee plus shipping and insurance
costs for venues of one to four months. All terms are negotiable.
