I think that providing spaces for hanging out and providing discussion
questions that support family exploration are both important. I
remember going to a museum as a child with my mother, who would show
me the baby exhibit and tell me the story of my birth. It was such a
special moment. That exhibit became important to me for that
experience, and I always returned there when I visited the museum,
even if I breezed through the surrounding areas. If we could invite
more personal connections like this in museums, I think it would
strengthen their relevance.
