Position Available: Exhibits Preparator,
Interpretation and Exhibits

Serve as an integral part of the Interpretation and
Exhibits program by planning, preparing, fabricating,
installing, and maintaining indoor and outdoor signs
and exhibits. Serve as an institutional point person
for exhibit and sign resources, materials, and
production. Responsible for appropriate storage,
inventory, and maintenance of exhibit elements and
signs.     
 
Job Qualifications: High School diploma required;
Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred.  Proficiency in
spoken and written English, spelling, and grammar. 
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, carpentry,
fabrication, and other physical elements of exhibit
construction (painting, assembling, laminating, mat
cutting, etc.).  Knowledge of exhibit materials and
substrates highly desirable. Experience in exhibit and
graphic design highly advantageous.  

This position requires the ability to effectively
communicate with a wide variety of staff, customers,
and vendors.  Must be able to carry out multiple
projects within an ambitious schedule.  The ability to
work independently and as part of a team is essential.
 Must possess the dexterity to use hand and
power-operated tools safely, proficiently, and
efficiently; and move between widely separated work
sites, many of which are outdoors and on uneven
terrain.

Working Conditions: Combined indoor/outdoor setting
(approximately 75% indoor, 25% outdoor). Work outside
year-round in all weather conditions between widely
separated work sites, many of which are on uneven
terrain. Able to lift and move exhibit segments
weighing up to 50 lbs.
