I wonder what she means by digitally created . Was it a real slide projector? If it was they tend to be noisey and they take up allot of space because you have to project them. We used that technique in History Hall the projectors lasted about two years and now they have croaked. Nevertheless projectors should not be ignored.

I was in Portland recently, and at their contemporary art center they had a
small slide projector that was doing the job of signage. It was a
digitally-created slide. I thought it was the perfect combination of high
and low tech, with a personal touch.

Anyone have recommendations for Digital Signage? I would love to have
something that will be bright and colorful that will show events for the
day.

I have seen some giant plasma screens, but would rather have something that
was 20" tall or so.. maybe not that wide.

Am also interested in how to program it. The best way, I think, would be to
have the admissions desk program it somehow. It could also run off of our
events calendar.

Any suggestions?
Thanks
