Peter, this morning I attended a seminar on "Social Media in Government", where the keynote speaker cited the US Army recruitment Web site as one of the best examples of using social media.



The home page is http://www.goarmy.com/, and--responding to your immediate question "Do you think that museums would benefit (and how) if games and such were designed or existed at various appropriate levels that encouraged awareness/experience/engagement, etc., at museums"--the page with games and downloads is http://www.goarmy.com/downloads/index.jsp?hmref=s2.



While recruiting for the US Army is different from attracting museum audiences, you may nonetheless find how that Web site attracts its demographic (young males, 16-24).
