My mother, now retired after teaching for nearly 40 years, sent me this
response when I forwarded the query:

The best we can come up with is window pole- and it was an honor to be
asked to get it, and better yet. be allowed to use it.  The other
grasping pole is still being used and sold. Someone one in a big grocery
store might be abe to help you with that one.
