Jay Smith of the Reno County Museum spoke about not doing overnights
because of the belief of ghost in the museum. As an active Girl Scout,
this sounds like a great possibility especially for older girls (or
boys)--I wouldn't do it for young kids. You could have a "haunted house"
overnight with some of the activities centered around learning about
some of the former inhabitants of the boarding house.

The National Air and Space Museum has done several overnights for
families, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. I've participated in them as a
volunteer not as a planner. They were all very successful. If you are
interested in more information contact Cheryl Bauer. Her address is
naspl003.sivm.si.edu. or phone--202/357-1529.
