The 1999 Coming Up Taller Awards, an annual awards program of the
National Endowment for the Arts and the President's Committee on the
Arts and Humanities, is currently accepting nominations for this year's
awards.  These awards recognize and reward 10 outstanding programs
across the country that encourage children's participation in the arts
and  humanities.  Each recipient of the Coming Up Taller Award will
receive $10,000 at a White House Event in the fall of 1999.   One of the
ten 1998 award recipients was a youth museum and it is likely that a
museum will be awarded again this year.  The submission deadline for
nominations is April 2, 1999 and additional information (including
nominations forms) is available on the Web at http://arts.endow.gov or
http://www.pcah.gov
