Thanks for responses received so far.  I'm passing messages on to our marketing director, Charlie Howard.  Staff have been asked to work on a plan to double our annual school visitation rate.  Revamping our marketing approach is at the top of the list.  We're interested in both the conventional and "out of the box" marketing strategies that other museums use to attract schools.  We're also reconsidering staff responsibilities around this effort and are interested to learn how other museums structure staff for school visits, from marketing through the visit itself.
