DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), an independent natural
history museum located in Ithaca, New York, seeks a dynamic, highly
motivated individual to head its fundraising and public relations.
Responsibilities include: coordination of all fundraising activities of the
Institution, including supervision of development staff and volunteers;
working with the Director and Board on planning and implementation of a
major capital campaign; coordination of public relations and marketing
efforts; coordination of membership programs; and coordination of Board
development and comuncations. The successful applicant will have a strong
background in fundraising and public relations or relevant comparable
experience; demonstrated management skills; flexibility; and ability to
work well in a fast-paced environment. Experience with capital campaigns a
strong plus.

Founded in 1932, PRI is a small but rapidly growing organization, holding
one of the nation's largest fossil collections. The Institution is
currently planning a major expansion, the Museum of the Earth, which will
focus on public exhibits and education. PRI is not formally connected to
nor supported by Cornell, but maintains numerous relationships with the
University. Salary commensurate with experience; benefits include TIAA-CREF
retirement, health insurance.
