Curtis,

I would not suggest you employ Museum Wax to repair the piece in
question but rather utilize Paraloid B72 or a PVAC (such as Jade).

Description
[Rohm & Haas] A registered trademark for a clear, colorless,
thermoplastic acrylic resin. Paraloid® B-72 (formerly called Acryloid®
B-72 in the United States) is composed of an ethyl methacrylate (70%)
and methyl acrylate (30%) copolymer. (taken from CAMEO Conservation
and Art Material Encyclopedia online http://cameo.mfa.org/ and SPNHC
Leaflets: A Technical Publication Series of the Society for the
Preservation of Natural History Collections)
