PUBLIC INFORMATION ASSOCIATE

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in English or Art History. One or two
years experience in museum setting or publicity or public relations in
related field. Strong verbal and writing skills. Must relate well to
others within and outside the Museum, and to work well within a fast
paced, high pressure environment. Ability to deal with simple bookkeeping
to handle departmental accounts. Computer literacy with word processing
skills and ability to handle departmental database.

Responsibilities:
Working with minimal supervision under the direction of the Public
Information Officer, this position handles a wide range of administrative
duties. Responsibilities include, inpart: responding to external and
internal inquiries, assisting in writing press materials, maintaining
department's media database; handles departmental accounts, including
processing and recording invoices for payment; maintains files with
assistance from volunteers, traffics press materials from printing
through mailing, maintains newspaper and periodical subscriptions,
accompanies the media while in Museum, and other office duties as are
appropriate for a press office.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with additional overtime
as required.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
