The Children’s Museum of the Arts: School & Public Program Manager

The Children’s Museum of the Arts is dedicated to nurturing the creative
development of children aged 12 and younger. As the only children’s art museum in
the tri-state area, CMA is dedicated to exhibiting and collecting children’s artwork, as
well as providing children with hands-on opportunities to explore a variety of artistic
media. The Museum’s educational mission is to offer a broad range of art-making
and art appreciation programs in schools, social service institutions, and community
based organizations.

HOURS/SALARY:
The hours are Monday – Friday from 9:30 – 5:30, with weekend and evening
hours as needed.  Salary commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This full-time position will focus on the following areas:

Designing, implementing and administering all on- and off- site school and
public programs working in tandem with the Museum’s artistic staff.
Managing Museum school and outreach activities.
Supervising the Museum’s teaching and per diem artists.
Participating in leading staff development workshops.
Assisting in the writing of grants and proposals pertaining to school and
public programs in collaboration with the museum’s director.
Assisting in marketing the Museum’s school and public programs.
Maintain education database (scheduling tours, assigning teaching artists,
maintaining numbers for grants, sending out invoices, following-up on invoices,
making sure that payments are sent/received etc.);
Promoting educational materials (meeting with principals, librarians, community
groups).
General administrative support (answering phones, filing paperwork, and office
supplies, organizational tasks such as filing, coordinating mailings, collating etc.).
