Responsibilities of the Position:
The Division of Preservation and Access provides leadership and support for
a sustained national effort to preserve and increase the availability of

humanities. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the incumbent
works with potential applicants in the development of proposals and
participates fully in administrative, financial, program policy, and other

assess their eligibility and consistency with Endowment policies; arrange

continued evaluation and payment for current grants. The incumbent will
represent the Division at various meetings and conduct site visits to
promote the Division's programs and to evaluate the accomplishments of the
current projects it supports.

Qualification Requirements:
A B.A. in a discipline of the humanities is required. In addition to the

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: (1) A professional
degree in library science, archival studies, or museum studies; (2)
Demonstrated speaking and writing ability, as evidenced by recent (3-5
years) presentations at professional meetings or other organized gatherings
and by written reports, articles, or other documents prepared for in-house
or public occasions; (3) Demonstrated experience in the care of library,
archival, or museum collections or in the management of preservation and/or
access projects and programs; (4) Administrative experience in a
not-for-profit cultural institution, grant-making organization, or research
