I'm thinking there are a lot of small historical groups in this country that
are like this; I can think of one locally that published a book about its
township, but does not have a physical location -- i.e., a building -- or
any sort of collection.
Also, I'm wondering if Civil War Roundtables are an example of this sort of
thing...

Subject: Preserving history without collections

Hi everyone. Does anyone know of an institution that has as part of its
mission the preservation of history but has no actual historical
collections? I'm not thinking about architecture (which is an obvious
example), but rather the history of a corporation or association, a
culture, or even a city or town. I'm sure there are other possibilities
I'm not thinking of, so any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!
Tracy Sullivan
