We are currently in the process of updating our collection records(8000)
(hopefully to be finished by this spring) and our using a custom Access97
database for our new system. We store digital images taken by our Kodak
DC120 as bitmap objects which are then reduced and transferred into the
database as OLE objects. This will allow curators, and in the future the
public, to view an image of the piece along with the registrarial record
of the item in our collection. If memory serves me, you should be able to
achieve similar results with Access 2.0.

e-mail me if you have further questions...
