SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO AYM INTERACTIVITY CONFERENCE AND PRECONFERENCE

DEADLINE:  JANUARY 17, 1997!

The Association of Youth Museums is pleased to announce that an IMS
Professional Services Program grant has enabled AYM to develop and hold a
preconference for small museums before the 1997 InterActivity conference.
 “Small Museums:  Transforming the Learning Landscape” will be held on
Friday, June 6, 1997 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the preconference will
address issues of management, earned income, governance, facilities,
capacity, and audience development.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Small museums that have been open for at least two years with annual
operating budgets under $250,000 are eligible to receive a scholarship.  The
scholarship includes registration to the preconference, registration to
InterActivity, up to $100 for hotel, and up to $400 for travel.  25
scholarships will be awarded to small museums with budgets under $250,000.
 In addition, 25 non-scholarship spots are available for small museums who
have been open for at least two years with budgets under $500,000.  There is
an application process for BOTH the scholarship and non-scholarship spots.
