Is the floor in your collection storage area concrete? if so then an epoxy
sealant (either clear or tinted) can be applied. - doesn't interfere with
compact storage systems, allows for easy clean up and should last for many
many years. A clear epoxy sealant or a light grey epoxy is what they put on
the concrete floors in the new preservation centre for the National Archives
of Canada. This is also what was proposed for the floors in the storage
areas of the new Canadian War Museum.
