DESCRIPTION:

Digital Accessibility Fellow



To educate the next generation of leaders in the accessibility field while providing a bridge between academic research and practice at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts 

This Fellowship is a year-long; 20 hours/week at $20/hour.  In addition to contributing to on-going projects, and access to professional development and mentoring, the Fellow will complete a capstone project that demonstrates innovation in digital accessibility that will be presented to staff.  The Fellow will work collaboratively with Digital Media and Accessibility at Lincoln Center to further accessibility features on the website, apps, and Live from Lincoln Center, and report to the Assistant Director of Accessibility.  With equal focus on content and professional development, this Fellow will research best practices in tech accessibility, meet with leaders in the field, and have the opportunity to design a new element on the website/app.

The ideal candidate is a current or recent graduate student in Digital Media, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Adaptive Technology or other similar programs, and with a deep interest in inclusion and accessibility.



Digital Accessibility Fellow projects may include:

•	Conducting an assessment of all aspects of the website and apps to identify possible barriers and create a prioritized list of modifications.

•	Enhancing wayfinding tools for various disability and general audiences

•	Benchmarking innovative new practice in accessibility

•	Captioning video content

•	Writing and recording verbal description

•	Scripting and editing ASL vlogs

•	Reviewing and supporting accessibility for screenings  

•	Monitoring and augmenting compliance

This Fellowship is a year-long; 20 hours/week at $20/hour

Accessibility Partnerships and Programs Fellowship



To educate the next generation of leaders in the accessibility field while providing a bridge between academic research and practice at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts



In addition to contributing to on-going projects, and access to professional development and mentoring, the Fellow will complete a capstone project that demonstrates innovation in program development that will be presented to staff.  The Fellow will report to the Assistant Director of Accessibility, and work collaboratively across departments to support and create new accessibility initiatives, including programs for children with disabilities and individuals with dementia.  The ideal candidate is a current or recent graduate student in Education, Museum Studies/Education, Social Work, Disability Studies, or other similar programs. With equal focus on content and professional development, this Fellow will research best practices in programs and outreach for disability populations, meet with leaders in the field, and have the opportunity to design and implement new programs. The Fellow will have a research project that will culminate in an event.   



Accessibility Partnerships and Programs Fellowship projects may include:

•	Developing new partners, programs, and supports for Passport to the Arts or Dementia Project

•	Supporting Lincoln Center Local programs in community centers

•	Researching and implementing accommodations for performances

•	Designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research based on programs throughout the year

•	Contributing to grant-writing

•	Sourcing performers and artistic partners from the disability community

•	Focused outreach to new communities and event planning



This Fellowship is a year-long; 20 hours/week at $20/hour
