The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies announces space is
still available for the following courses:

Instructor: Susan Hansen
Date: September 30 - October 3, 2004
Friends Scholarships Available

This four-day hands-on workshop is intended for library staff that repair damaged volumes from circulating collections. The course is based on instructions from the Book Repair Procedure Manual prepared by the University of Iowa Libraries' Conservation Department.

In order to be effective, collections maintenance repair must be quick, simple, and inexpensive, without sacrificing good workmanship and materials. The course will focus on the repair of cloth bound, trade and publishers bindings and will provide hands-on experience.

Please Note: $300 Scholarships from the National Endowment for the
Humanities are available for all the above courses.

Course fees include accommodations and some meals.

Please visit our website for details on these and other courses.
