Early Childhood Exhibit/Program Developer

Providence Children’s Museum, nationally recognized for innovative, 
interactive exhibits and programs, seeks an Early Childhood 
Exhibit/Program Developer to join its education team. This person will 
be primarily responsible for the development and functioning of 
participatory exhibits and programs for children ages 1 to 5 and their 
adult caregivers.

• Define goals, content, activities and audience for programs and exhibits;
• Develop and present programs for general public, groups and educators;
• Supervise full-time AmeriCorps volunteers to provide learning 
experiences for Head Start children;
• Train exhibit educators;
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies, educational 
organizations and content specialists;
• Develops concepts and content for new exhibits and improvements for 
existing exhibits;
• Participate as members of exhibits team.

Qualifications:
• Creative team-players,
• At least five years experience in an educational environment, at least 
three in informal educational program development;
• Strong commitment to “hands-on” learning; exhibit development and/or 
museum education experience a plus;
• Experience working with community outreach and staff training and 
supervision desirable;
• Minimum bachelors in related field;
• Familiar with early childhood, learning theory and informal education 
techniques;
• Strong written and oral communication.
