The Seminole Tribe of Florida's Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum has the following position available: 


EXHIBITS COORDINATOR


NATURE OF WORK

The Exhibits Coordinator reports to the Exhibits Manager and is responsible for the maintenance of the exhibit galleries which also includes objects currently on display in the gallery. This position is also accountable for the management of S.T.E.P. (Seminole Travelling Exhibits Program). This is an hourly position.


ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS 

The listed duties are only illustrative and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed by this position. The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed, if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.

-Prep and install/ de-install of museum exhibits.
-Maintain and supervise cleaning of museum exhibits.
-Manage S.T.E.P. (Seminole Traveling Exhibits Program)
-Serve as initial point person for S.T.E.P.
-Develop and maintain marketing ideas for S.T.E.P.
-Create smaller graphic design elements for exhibits.
-Maintain exhibit collection.
-Act as liaison with vendors for outsourced design elements.
-Assist Curator and Exhibits Manager as needed.
-Organize and maintain exhibit files on shared network (CUJO) and PastPerfect
-Document exhibit fabrication and final product.
-Works with other museum departments on exhibit based needs.
-Complies with all Museum policies, procedures and safety regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Ability to manage traveling exhibits program
-Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft, Abobe and PastPerfect.
-Knowledge of woodworking, painting, metalwork, and electrical helpful
-Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
-Strong interpersonal skills.  
-Strong communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
-Capable of handling multiple projects and see projects to a point of completion.
-Ability to serve the Tribal community, the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the STOF tribal community, general public, co-workers and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
-Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
-Ability to travel as necessary.  
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements are a B.A. in History, Anthropology or Museum-related studies.  Experience in exhibit prep and design essential. 3-5 years museum experience necessary. Experience managing a traveling exhibits program a plus. Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft, Adobe and PastPerfect. Graphic design skills a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there are periods of physical labor when installing and de-installing exhibits. Must be able to comfortably lift 35 lbs. 
May drive a company vehicle. 


WORKING CONDITIONS	

Mostly works in a clean, air-conditioned office area, with little noise.  During periods of exhibit prep must be able to help with assembling and disassembling exhibits using small tools and performing light duty type of work.
