We get all our bulbs at a local electrical supply house (look in the
Yellow Pages under "Electrical Supplies") We buy a carton (24?) at a
time and they're significantly cheaper than Home Depot was, or our
local hardware store.

Heidi,

Try homedepot.com and see if they carry it online. I worked for Home
Depot while in college. Sometimes when a store stops carrying
something, it's a decision made at the regional office. However, other
regions may still carry the product(s), and they may still sell them on
the website.

Also, ask someone at the special service desk if the bulbs have
actually been discontinued, they may be able to tell you if another
store has them or even get them transfered to your local store.

In an effort to streamline things and possibly save money as well as
time, I’m looking for a source
to order light bulbs for our track
lighting systems in bulk.

One of the track lighting systems in our museum takes the large 65w
spots which we used to get at Home Depot. Unfortunately they have
decided not to carry spot lights anymore – a mystery to me but I’m not
versed in retail hardware sales and marketing strategies. What do
others on the list do for supplying bulbs for their museums?
