The Minnesota Historical Society is proud to announce the release of its new
online project, "Forests, Fields, and the Falls: Connecting Minnesota"

This project tells a story that (hopefully) engages the audience and then
allows deeper exploration of the connections they've made. For the more
research-minded, an index bypasses the story for direct access to the
sources, including 100+ pages of letters that had previously not been
transcribed.

Forests, Fields, and the Falls also intends to engage audiences in the
subject enough to draw them to visit specific museums in the area. Or the
other way around: visitors to the museums may extend their experiences by
visiting the site from home or school.

An audience evaluation of the storytelling concept is in progress, with
results to be compiled towards the end of the year.

Forests, Fields, and the Falls is part of a suite of projects that were
supported by a National Leadership Grant from the IMLS.
