As between any two cultures, the roles attached to statuses can vary. I am
a Curator of Collections. I handle accessions and deaccessions, all the
legal matters concerning our collections (such as NAGPRA), research the
collection, write grants etc., while our Collectiosn Manager manages
the database, supervises volkunteers, hourly/workstudy/practicum
students, tries to get us to switch to MAC, etc.
