Cindy,
My volunteer group uses the calendar in gmail. Everyone was given the password and trained on how to add/change an "event", in this case, scheduling a time to come in. I just have to go to the calendar and see who is coming when so I can prepare for them. It's worked for us so far, tho if you have specific times you need people in (we don't, our ladies work behind the scenes) it may prove more challenging.
Good luck!
Karen

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] volunteer scheduling online?

Happy Friday, for those who are reading this today - and do not have hours or an event to cover on the weekend!

Does anyone out there use an online resource to schedule volunteers for events or museum coverage? Either on the internet, or on your website?

I'm talking about a resource where the volunteer can access an up to date schedule, see slots that need coverage, and sign up for the specific times - ideally, while providing updated contact information.

Thanks!
