Cal Science Center (used to be our MOSI but got
renamed when they redid it following substantive
earthquake damage) has a shake room.  You go in and
step on the platform, there's a video that talks to
you about earthquake stuff, and then all of a sudden
it shakes like heck.  Grandboy loves it (he's the
elder of the two and a daredevil).  Granddaughter's
response was "Let's get out of here, Grandma."

Course the best earthquake simulation is at Universal
Studios just up the road.
