I know there is a museum at the Falls of the Ohio in Indiana, right across from Louisville, Kentucky.  I think it is either New Albany or Jeffersonville, IN.  Also, there is a lock and dam in Portland, a neighborhood of Louisville.  Try the Portland Museum, (502) 776-7678.
