I am a volunteer at the Israel National Museum of science - Daniel and
Matilde Recanati Center in Haifa.
We want to register about 10000 (ten thousand) items in the next few years.
We need help in choosing a classificaiton method and also, a software
package that will enable us to be on the web in the near future.
I am a "just retired" information specialist and librarian who ran a special
library for quite some years, but have no experience in museums.

I would be grateful for any help or tips. both practical and also books or
articles.

o be more specific - we wnat to catalog scientific instruments of
the late 19th centuray and onwards.

Many thanks
Shosh Dub
