CONSERVATION ASSISTANT


The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Conservation Assistant for the Registrar's Office.  Responsibilities include handling and soft-wrapping of art on owner's premises, supervising art deliveries, collections and transportation, preparation of condition reports, digital photography of all incoming materials, assisting with Storeroom One record keeping and acting as Museum courier. Responsibilities include correspondence, tracking and posting income, corporate servicing, soliciting and coordinating special events, prospecting, follow-up and acknowledgement of gifts, extensive contact with corporate and real estate donors and overseeing volunteer leadership.  The ideal candidate must have exceptional writing, communication and interpersonal skills, must be self-motivated and resolutely attentive to detail.  Previous development experience preferred.
