The Adler Planetarium is seeking a Senior Educator for Children and Families.  This position will report to the Associate Director of Floor Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

-coordinate, co-develop with Adler staff the Park Voyagers, Summer Worlds Tour Camp and Adler camp curriculums

- implement Summer Worlds Tour and Adler camps including recruitment of instructors, maintaining database of camp participants and ordering supplies

-develop and implement floor programming for current and upcoming projects and exhibits including Discover Our Universe, Sesame Street, IBEX, I2U2 and others

-work with Sesame Street show material development for families and young children, including preschool children

-work with the show production team to do formative assessment of sky show segments for younger viewers

Education and Experience Required

-a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field

- at least five years of classroom teaching experience

- educational design experience

-a Master’s Degree in education or a related field is preferred

-two or more years of informal teaching experience is a plus

-five or more years of classroom teaching experience is preferred
