Do you have a staff handbook? If so, that's a great place to put a
notation of this desire. Staff handbooks generally get updated every
couple of years so put this in on the next revision, and at the staff
meeting where you hand out the updated handbooks you might call
attention to all the "new" elements including this "reminder."

If a gift
recipient does not offer to turn their gift over to the museum, how does

one approach them about doing so(if at all)?

All advice/observations are appreciated. My thanks in advance!
