I'm familiar with the Trail of Painted Ponies (not as an organizer, but as a
person who likes collecting the "mass produced" replicas). Go to their
website at http://www.trailofpaintedponies.com/ for more information about
that project. I'm sure you can call the organizers.

Good luck!
Laura

Subject: How does art fundraiser work- question for Mus. L

We are getting ready for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial and the Kansas
Territorial Sesquicentennial and several people have suggested doing a
fund raiser like I have seen where a specific figure is made and artists
make each a unique piece from their own design. Several places I have
seen did this with cows, and I have seen places that did horses and
other figures that are displayed then there is an ending fundraiser(?) I
have asked around locally and searched for places on the web but have
not found anyone yet who knows how to put something like this together
or what is needed to make it work.

Can anyone fill me in on how this works? What size community or overall
audience do you need for it to succeed? etc.
Thanks in advance for the info.
