Dear all,

I am registered on the MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester
(UK).

I am currently gathering information and data to write my dissertation.

My research is about:
the current and potential role of museum architecture in the relationship
between the museum and the general public.

I would like to focus on the outside architecture, the envelope of the
museum building.

I am interested in all sorts of museums (art galleries, science, social
history...).

Is museum architecture attractive for a wide range of people, sustaining
the efforts of museum staff to reach new audiences?
Or, on the other hand, is museum architecture repulsive and off-putting,
playing against the efforts of staff inside the museum to widen the
audience and make their collections more accessible?

I am interested in hearing about and reading all sorts of visitor surveys
and marketing research enquiring on this issue:
- the relation between the museum and the public through its venue,
- the perception of the museum building by the public, both visitor and non
visitor.

Thank you in advance for your interest and your information.
