The faculty of the Department of Museum Studies at The University of the
Arts in Philadelphia would like to post the following job description.

The search for a director of the MA Program in Museum Communications in the
Department of Museum Studies is now accepting applications.

Graduate (MA) Program in Museum Communication.

The curriculum of the program addresses contemporary theory and practice in
museum work, focusing on the skills and understandings required by museum
professionals who deal with the public. This new program will first be
offered in fall, 2003, joining the two established Museum Studies programs
in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design (MFA) and Museum Education (MA).
Applicant must possess a broad, critical vision of contemporary museum
practice;  be qualified to teach in a multidisciplinary curriculum including
public relations, publications, collections management, museology theory,
and digital technology; hold an advanced/terminal degree in an appropriate
discipline; demonstrate a national record of achievement in professional
practice, teaching, and/or scholarship.  Salary and rank commensurate with
qualifications.  EOE.

appropriate examples of professional or student work (SASE for return), and
